Hi all, Im very curious about experiencing a tattoo. I have thought about types for a while but still not sure. I quite like a plain ace of spade (symbol on its own) but cant seem to find one without somthing to OTT for me. I would like a low key one so if i dont like it i can hide it under clothes. Also im abit of a wuss and would like it to be quite basic incase i cant stand the uncomfortableness. Does any one have any ideas about a 1st tattoo for me?

I think you got the right idea. Good first tattoo: small, easy to hide. Bad first tattoo: large, on face.

Tattoos are very personal things, hard to tell you what you should get. You can check out some sites to find things you like. Also think about something that might represent you, things that might represent someone you want to remember, things that signify a time in your life you want to remember, things that represent something you accomplished or made it through. You can start with something small on your shoulder or back that could be hidden easily, both area are less painful as well. If you go for something that has limited shading in it that would also leave you room to color it in later if you don't mind the pain.
Check out www.tattoos-by-design.co.uk/library for some neat design ideas.

i Think objects such as crosses or dice, cards etc are good first tattoos as these are easy to cover and fit well onto anyplace of the body.

My first tattoo was my nickname on my very upper arm. 3 letters, gothic type font, shaded. I was thinking the same as you, in that i was a bit of a wuss, and what if it hurt too much? I didn'twant to get anything like block black, cos that would hurt more. I have never regretted getting that one. i often forget i've even got it. And you will. When you first get it done, you will be thinking about it all the time and will want to show it to all and sundry, but give it a couple of months at the most, and it will be just another feature of your body which you will continue to love forever. and if you're anything like me and the countless other people on this forum who have many tattoos, once you have one, you're hooked.. you have been warned. TATTOOS ARE HIGHLY ADDICTIVE AND SHOULD NOT BE ENTERED INTO LIGHTLY.
Have fun with your future tattoos dude, and enjoy! *Still waiting to run out of skin* Taz |
