This is my first tattoo, it's a pic of my newfoudland dog, I have a question, the artist told me to come back for some more shading and I want him to tone down the blue but if he uses more black will we lose alot of the detail? Thanks,
Rhonda ~I also posted this in the tattoo talk, hoping someone can help me out with some suggestions. |

Why not ask the tattoo artist? No one knows more about his abilities than he does, so he should be able to tell you what he can do.
Personally, I wouldn't try to add a whole lot of black to it. I would try to tone down the blue to a gray so you can still see all the black detail.

Thank you! I will definately ask my artist I was just curious what others thought that's all.
I like your idea about adding gray to the blue. Thanks again. |

You're welcome. :)
It's always best to ask the person who is doing the work, since all artists are different and have different abilities and limitations.

recolor the blue with a combination of the same blue and a drop of orange to darken the cast of the color. New Foundland dogs are not bright blue as your tattoo suggests, and to add more black would distort the image. Hope I was of some help to you.
